Thanks to Al Inselberg, I developed an interest in multidimensional geometry and visualization. I developed the Node Extraction Visualization (NEVIS) method which is a network visualization method based on parallel coordinates. NEVIS tranforms a given network into parallel coordinates. How? We quantify the contribution of the network's nodes to its functionality under changing conditions and visualize the results using parallel coordinates.
The NEVIS paper can be found here.
We have also applied similar methods specifically for communication networks. This work has won the best student paper award in the Computer Section of the 24th IEEE conference for Electrical and Electronic Engineers in Israel.
For some deeper insight on transformation of networks into parallel coordinates, you can check out our book chapter.
