Thanks to Al Inselberg, I developed an interest in multidimensional geometry and visualization.  I developed the Node Extraction Visualization (NEVIS)  method which is a network visualization method based on parallel coordinates.  NEVIS tranforms a given network into parallel coordinates.  How? We quantify the contribution of the network's nodes to its functionality under changing conditions and visualize the results using parallel coordinates.  NEVIS transforms nodes into multidimensional points and key traits such as node stability, backup, interrelationship between nodes and unique topological patterns can be studied as well as other properties of interest in network research.

The NEVIS paper can be found here.

We have also applied similar methods specifically for communication networks.  This work has won the best student paper award in the Computer Section of the 24th IEEE conference for Electrical and Electronic Engineers in Israel.
